My name is Jerónimo Alonso, I am twenty-one years old and I am in my third year of the Social Communications degree program at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Although I do not have paid experience, in my two years at the faculty I have developed as a social writer and researcher, as well as in leadership and teamwork. Throughout the first year, I enhanced my skills as a writer of several short stories (all of them graded with the highest possible score) in different genres and, in addition, I performed analyses of novels assigned in class, relating them to both literary and social concepts. In terms of journalism itself, I trained in radio where I had the opportunity to select weekly news for recordings and be part of the hosting team. For the second year of the degree program, I continued my training in research, and the audiovisual component was added to it. For the former, the faculty focused on the celebration of forty years of democracy, and my research was divided into two subjects: on one hand, in Cultural Anthropology, I interviewed a witness of the last civic-military dictatorship for an hour, and on the other, in History of Media, an essay on the program “Nunca Más”. Moving away from the more historical context, I participated in a group research project that spanned the entire year (and received a grade of ten) on the #Fantagate phenomenon and its impact on both mass media and internet-based media. For the latter, I managed to train in the audiovisual field by scripting short fiction films and directing them. On the other hand, I recorded and edited a documentary, an experimental short film, and an essay. Outside of the University, I can say that I have experience in social media. The first of these was on the website recontragolazo.com (currently suspended) during the pandemic in 2020 while I was in my final year of school. From 2021 until last year, I was involved with @medio_pique, a sports blog with a significant reach across all its social media platforms. During those four years, I was responsible for narrating little-known sports stories (my main section was “World Cup Stories,” which recounted almost unknown facts and built anticipation for Qatar 2022), selecting images for articles, among other tasks. I would also be pleased to be considered for the position of (insert position) as I have several ideas that could work for (insert company).
